Halloween Fest 2017 consists of a full weekend of family fun and nighttime happenings – the highlight of the event is our 4th annual costumed Halloween Parade and our FIRST ANNUAL COFFIN RACE!

FRIDAY NIGHT, Oct 27
7pm – Yoga Pants Band @Joe’s Garage, Free Admission
I am Scarecrow + New Life Crisis: “The Dead Dance Ball” – Featuring an all-star musician lineup that includes Mark “The Animal” Mendoza on Bass (Twisted Sister), Tom Cavanagh on guitar (Lita Ford), Paul Mahos & Rob Woebber from New Life Crisis and members of Violinist Mark Wood’s (Trans-Siberian Orchestra) Viper Nest.I AM SCARECROW harkens back to the days when classic rock RULED – original SCARECROW songs, along with spooky classics from AC/DC, Alice Cooper, Black Sabbath, Guns and Roses, The Rolling Stones and more. 8PM – Halloween Masquerade Ball @ The Long Island Aquarium
Celebrate Halloween in grand fashion at our Masquerade Ball! Taking place in the main room of the Long Island Aquarium, enjoy an open bar, passed hors devours, buffet stations a DJ, dancing and entertainment. Don’t miss the social event of the year! SATURDAY, OCT 28:
12-4PM Bats, Barnacles & Broomsticks at the LI Aquarium. All kids in costume (12 years and under) get half priced admission to the Aquarium
12-5:30PM Pumpkin Carving, behind 117 East Main Street on the Peconic Riverfront. First 100 participants get a free pumpkin to carve and display in our Jack O’Lantern Walk. Or bring your own! Win prizes! Pumpkins donated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Riverhead.
2:30PM – 4:30PM Trick or Treating on Main Street.
3PM – Coffin Racers Pre-Race Day Contest – Sponsored independently by Joe’s Garage and Riverhead Raceway. Racers are welcome to show off their work and enter in a pre-race contest, then showcase your “coffins” in our annual Halloween parade! Details to be announced.
4PM-6:30PM – Enjoy specials created just for you by our local restaurants. See the menus here, visit the Vail Leavitt Theater for short films while you wait for the parade!
6:30 Parade kicks off at Griffing Ave @ Main Street (participants line up at 5:30!) Parade ends in a “Parade Show” on the Peconic Riverfront. Music and stage donated by One For the Road Event Services.

7pm – Elderly Brothers Band @Joe’s Garage, Free Admission
Spooky… scary… FUNKY! And downright… done right! Its Long Island’s #1 dance band ANYWHERE for a Halloween weekend of dancing, disco, funk, and magic, featuring That 70s Band LIVE, playing the hits of Earth Wind & Fire, KC & The Sunshine Band, The Commodores, and so much more… cash prizes for the best 70s wig or hairdue, best 70s costume, and cash prizes for the best general costume. GET OUT ON THE DANCE FLOOR this Halloween weekend – and get on down to the HISTORIC Suffolk Theater…

“Trunk or Treat” Sponsored by the Riverhead Chamber of Commerce. A spectacle of trunks decorated by Halloween folk from which you can get goodies! And enjoy some random, oddly placed entertainment.
Then head Downtown for more great specials at our restaurants and venues.

Time warp down to The Suffolk Theater to see the Rocky Horror Picture Show on the BIG Screen! Starring Tim Curry, Susan Sarandon, Barry Bostwick and more!
